Your Feedback

I wanted to thank all organizers for the great time I had at EureKamp. I found it very stimulating, interesting, and - most important - fun fun fun! (specifically the cortexstorming)

I am anxiously waiting for next one!

A Wonderful event!
In two words: great people - It was the blend of charming people, and the participation that made the difference.
The only question is: if Eurekamp is that good, why does it happen only once a year?

Wicked time + good vibez

Thanks Roostam, the nudnics and creative participants for setting the unique atmosphere.

The headbands & creative room gave some dope retro chic glitters (almost like here and here)

My personal reflections (by Dimitry Rotstein):

In one line: this Eurekamp was less action packed (and less packed in general), but felt more organized, though these two factors are probably related.

The small number of serious presentations was a bit disappointing, and so was the food (as compared to last year's). Okay, so maybe the food isn't the most important thing, but I felt that the next time I'd like to see some more serious content. Yes, I know, Eurekamp wasn't meant to be serious, but why wouldn't it be? There was a lot of serious presentations and lectures last time, even though they clashed horribly with cortexstorming schedule-wise.
I'm glad my advice about the microphones was implemented (even if my advice had nothing to do with that).

Despite the one hour delay it didn't feel like poor organizing - in fact the opening ceremony started  on time, and the day ended almost on time. Kudos. Although I wonder why sound devices weren't used in the cortexstorming for timing participants this time - it was such a cool idea.

And, of course, the weather was much nicer this time.

In summary, my primary recommendation from last year remains in effect: to reserve the first half of the day for cortexstorming, and the other half for lectures and presentations, with recreational activities running in between.

Oh, and will the organizers  debug this wiki? It puts a lot of extra symbols and breaks into the text.

Crazy Startups

In the Crazy Startups sessions we constructed ideas for startups out of random words, and poured real content into them against all odds.

The following ideas took the 1st place (equal votes):

  • Stinking Clock- An alarm clock that stinks when the alarm sounds. The idea is to increase the scent each time you press the snooze button.
  • Toilete Bowl Search Engine - A medical sensor attached to your toilete bowl, which measures the vitals of your urine.
  • Ultimate GPS e-Book - A GPS enabled e-Book, which delivers local literature and can also be used for getting local travel information.
  • Reliable Electic Remote Control - A remote control electrifier, used to control noisy students, etc.

The other great ideas that didn't make it to the 1st place:

  • Shiny Open Source Motorcycle - A (shiny) motorcycle whose parts are standardized with well-defined interfaces, allowing buyers not only to mix-and-match to customize their own motorcycle, but even build their own parts.
  • Optical Solar Pace Maker - A pace maker powered by a solar-energy panel attached to your hat.
  • Collaborative Robot - A robot that can join forces with other like robots to construct new robots (reproduction)
  • Geeky Stand-By Camera - A camera that captures geeky moments (waits until they happen and then captures them)
  • Recycled Future Forecasting Radio
  • Flying Vegetarian - An airline dedicated for vegetarians
  • Fastest Accounting Software In The World
  • Environmentally Friendly Stinking Yellow Liquid Car - A car that runs on urine.
  • Magnetic Disposable Prostatic Hand - For use in chemically-dangerous environments
  • Granular Access Point Pen
  • Rigid Circular Tetris MP3 - An MP3 palyer that repalys the tetris music forever (intended to drive people crazy)

The logo workshop

So, although I didn't had the chance to give a lecture about Web 2.0 communities design (which I'll save for next time, and could show our case study and work process with Babylon's Lingoz) the logo work shop was a success, and we finally have a new logo for the kamp... :-)

Since the Wiki engine is bugged, you can go here to see the logo:

I hope the talented winner, Keren, will update and refine it so it will work in any media.

Enjoy!
